Green prizes to be won as part of recycle week

BANBRIDGE District Council is offering local residents and businesses the opportunity to win one of five green prizes during this year’s Recycle Week, which runs from Monday 18-Sunday 24 June.

To be in with a chance of winning either a tumbling composter or wormery worth over £50, simply start following the Council on Facebook or Twitter during Recycle Week.

Five names will be selected from all new followers or fans that like the Council’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/banbridgecouncil) or follow its Twitter page (www.twitter.com/banbridgedc) during Recycle Week.

And to help you recycle more waste at home and at work, lots of recycling tips and advice will be posted on the Council’s official social media pages throughout the week. There will also be links to videos on how to recycle a range of materials at home and at work.

The names of the prize winners will be announced shortly afterwards on Facebook and Twitter. To be eligible to enter, a person must live in the Banbridge District or a business must be based here.

The Council has begun piloting the use of social media as a means of communicating and engaging with local people, as a recent survey showed that one in every two people here is using sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

So if you would like to receive regular updates from Banbridge District Council or comment on its services or facilities, it is recommended that you sign up for a free account. And do it during Recycle Week for a chance to win a wormery or tumbling composter!
