A BOMB alert which closed off the centre of Banbridge this morning has been declared a hoax.
It was believed that a device had been left 100 metres from the Electorial Office on Bridge Street.
The town centre had been closed off since shortly after 9am, but by 10.15am the area was declared safe.
Army bomb experts had arrived minutes before to examine the scene.
Police had earlier been seen checking bins which had been left out for collection, searching for a device.
For more on this check this week's Banbridge and Dromore Leader.
