A Banbridge-based wedding videographer has been named the overall Northern Ireland wedding videographer of the year.

Gary McKinistry, who runs Carpe Diem Videography, received his award at The Northern Ireland Wedding Awards 2016 which were in the Grand Ballroom of the Europa Hotel on Monday 22nd February.

The event was hosted by Pamela Ballantine and there was live music by Matty Rea.

Northern Ireland was divided into five regions (Northern, Western, Southern, South Eastern and Belfast) for the various awards.

The winners of those categories then went through to the overall Northern Ireland Title which Gary won having won the Videography title in the Southern region.

Gary, who attended the black tie event with his wife Louise, is based in Oakridge off the Castlewellan Road and his business has been established for ten years.

He said: “I am delighted with this award as I love doing what I do and it’s great to get recognition from the wedding industry.

“I would like to thank all my brides and grooms for supporting me over the past ten years.

One of the videos that impressed the judges was of Banbridge girl Emma Jardine who married Samir Farhat last August in Millbrook lodge Ballynahinch.
