Independent Unionist candidate in the forthcoming Assembly election in South Down, John McCallister has welcomed the extension of the Maximising Access to Services Grants and Benefits in Rural Areas (MARA) project.
He said, “MARA aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in rural Northern Ireland by helping them access local services, grants and benefits. This has been a vital service for thousands.
“MARA has secured over £1m of reclaimed benefits, 1500 homes receiving Warm Home Insulation Grants and 780 people joining Rural Community Transport schemes.”
