Countrysports extravaganza hits Scarva this weekend

Momentum is building for The Northern Ireland CountrySports Fair, with less than a week to go until the main event at Scarvagh House, (6th-7th June).

The Fair is a two day extravaganza celebrating the top country sports and country pursuits which are thriving throughout Ireland – from gun dog tests and archery to clay pigeon shooting and angling.

High octane attractions including the Yakovlevs air display, Phoenix Falconry and the Trial Star Motorcycle Trails are confirmed for the main arena over the course of the weekend.

Over 170 exhibitors will be showcasing at the event, 1,000+ competitors are set to compete and 18,000 visitors are expected to pass through the gates of the Fair.

Derek Lutton, Event Director for the Northern Ireland CountrySports Fair commented: “With one week to go, we are busy with the final preparations for the show.

“We’re thrilled to be unveiling the all new NI CountrySports Fair at Scarvagh House and hope to attract visitors from far and wide.

“Whether you are looking for a fun family-day out or are a country sport enthusiast we want to see you at the Fair.”

Translink will be operating a shuttle bus service running on both Saturday and Sunday from the War Memorial in Banbridge and Portadown Train Station to Scarva Centre (The Park Inn) – Scarvagh House is a short 5-10 minute walk from here.

This service will cost £4.80 from Banbridge (return) and £5.40 from Portadown (return).

Between 10am – 12noon and 2 – 5pm, hourly services will depart the bus stop at the War Memorial in Banbridge travelling to the Scarva Centre (Park Inn).

Hourly return services will depart the Park Inn from 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.30pm – 5.30pm.

On Saturday 6th June, a shuttle bus service will also depart Portadown Train Station (Northway) at 10am, 11.15am and 12.45pm travelling to the Park Inn, Scarva. Return shuttle services will depart at 2.45pm, 3.45pm and 5.15pm.

On Sunday 7th June, the Portadown Train Station shuttle bus service will depart at 10.10am, 11.10am, 12.10pm and 1.10pm. Return shuttle services will depart at 3.10pm, 4.10pm and 5.10pm. For further information please visit www.countrysportsfairs.com or facebook.com/countrysportsfairs or @CSFairs.
