Call for action as fly-tippers target a rural road near Laurencetown

Sinn Fein councillor, Kevin Savage, has called for an end to the on-going incidents of fly tipping on the Lowtown Road.

Cllr Savage said he has had complaints from several residents in the area in the past number of weeks.

Speaking on the issue Cllr. Savage said: “I Fly tipping is not only an eyesore but also impacts on health and safety.

“It also presents an additional financial burden on local rate payers.

“There are numerous council facilities locally where waste can be disposed of.

“Such instances of fly tipping are completely unacceptable.

“Those engaged in this behaviour should desist and I would encourage local residents to report any sightings to ensure further incidents are minimised.

“I have contacted Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council to ensure recent items are removed.
