Incidents of fly-tipping on a rural road near Laurencetown have been condemned by a local councilor.

Sinn Fein councillor, Kevin Savage, has called for an end to the on-going incidents of fly tipping on the Lowtown Road.

Cllr Savage said he has had complaints from several residents in the area in the past number of weeks.

Speaking on the issue Cllr. Savage said: “I Fly tipping is not only an eyesore but also impacts on health and safety.

“It also presents an additional financial burden on local rate payers.

“There are numerous council facilities locally where waste can be disposed of.

“Such instances of fly tipping are completely unacceptable.

“Those engaged in this behaviour should desist and I would encourage local residents to report any sightings to ensure further incidents are minimised.

“Residents can report online via the council website or by calling: 028 3833 9031

“I have contacted Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council to ensure recent items are removed.
