Driving ban for no insurance

For her third conviction of driving without insurance a 19-year-old woman was banned from the roads for a year last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court.

Alanis Anderson, Cline Road, Banbridge, was also fined £350 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

She did not appear at the court and was convicted in her absence.

Anderson was stopped at Cascum Road, Banbridge, and police inquiries at the roadside suggested she was not insured.

The defendant had never produced her insurance to police. District Judge Eamonn King said the defendant had a record with two previous convictions for no insurance.
