Will use bus pass after driving ban

A 60-year-old man who was banned from driving last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court will be using his new bus pass in the future.

James Daniel Campbell, Loughbrickland Road, Dromore, was fined £250 and banned from driving for six months for not having insurance on February 7 this year.

Fines of £50 were imposed for not displaying ‘L’ plates and driving unaccompanied while he was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The offences were discovered when he was stopped while driving on the Rathfriland Road, Banbridge.

Inquiries revealed he was not insured. He was a provisional licence holder and did not have ‘L’ plates displayed and he was unaccompanied.

A solicitor representing the defendant said that the last time he was disqualified he also had a provisional licence. He added that Mills had now obtained a bus pass.
