It is with deep regret that we record the passing of Mr Eric Dunlop at Craigavon Area Hospital on Monday 16th November.

Eric was well known and liked by his many friends and was the dearly loved son of the late David and Elizabeth.

He was a batchelor and is survived by his brother Fred and nephews and nieces.

Eric was brought up in Dromore Street and then moved to Mount Charles where he lived until he went into Seapatrick Care Home 18 months ago.

In his young days he worked for Gowdy’s Bleaching Co. before moving on to GNR railways.

After that he was employed by NI Electricity board where he remained until his retirement.

He developed diabetes and as a result had both legs amputated.

As a hobby he kept racing pigeons and was a supporter of Liverpool Football Club. When health permitted he travelled over to their matches.

He was a faithful member of Seapatrick Parish Church and could be seen each week coming in on his crutches.

At his funeral service, which was largely attended, his rector The Ven. Roderic West paid a fitting tribute to Eric and referred to his deep faith in the Lord.

He was assisted by Rev. Catherine Simpson. the hymns The Lord’s my Shepherd and To God be the Glory were sung. Roly Anketel presided at the organ.

Internment took place at the New Cemetary.
