New moderator for Dromore Presbytery

The Rev David Bruce has been appointed as the new Moderator of Dromore Presbytery.

He took over from the Rev Leslie Patterson (Minister of Loughaghery and Cargycreevy Presbyterian Churches) at a presbytery meeting in First Lisburn Presbyterian Church on Tuesday March 1.

David, currently Secretary to the Council for Mission in Ireland, was Director of Scripture Union in Northern Ireland (1992-2002) and then Regional Director for Scripture Union in Britain, Ireland and the former Soviet Union (2002-2007).

He and his wife Zoe have lived in Lisburn since 1992.

The 22 churches in the Dromore Presbytery are: Anahilt, Ballinderry, Banbridge Road - Dromore, Cargycreevy, Drumbo, Drumlough, Elmwood - Lisburn, First Dromara, First Dromore, First Lisburn, Harmony Hill - Lambeg, Hillhall, Hillsborough, Legacurry, Loughaghery, Magheragall, Maze, Moira, Railway Street - Lisburn, Second Dromara, Sloan Street - Lisburn and St Columba’s - Lisburn.
