The Southern Health and Social Care Trust has begun a new partnership with Marie Curie as its Charity of the Year.

Marie Curie was nominated by staff and chosen by a Selection Panel.

Southern Trust Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, Kieran Donaghy said: “We have over 13,000 very generous staff living and working across Armagh, Dungannon, Craigavon, Banbridge and Newry and Mourne.

“We know that there are many very worthy causes out there, all trying to raise much needed funds, so the Charity of the Year initiative was set up a few years ago to show how collectively, Trust staff could make a significant contribution to the wellbeing of others. We are delighted to welcome Marie Curie as the Trust’s new charity partner.

The charity carries out vitalwork providing end of life care and support to people living with any terminal illness and we look forward to supporting their activities through fundraising and volunteering.”
