David Simpson MP welcomed the Ulster Scots Agency to Westminster with Banbridge girl Alison Davis showing off the new Causeway Tartan at the heart of the Houses of Parliament.
The Ulster-Scots Agency event, under the sponsorship of MP Ian Paisley Junior also received support from Tourism Ireland as well as the Bushmills Distillery and Good Food NI and included dancers, pipers and various speakers from the Ulster-Scots Agency and partner organisations.
Speaking after the event David Simpson said: “I was delighted to see the Ulster Scots Agency represented at Westminster and especially Alison Davis from Banbridge who so proudly helped launch the new Causeway Tartan.
“It remains one of the most enjoyable things I get to do as MP; welcoming my constituents to the Houses of Parliament and especially this event as Northern Ireland’s Ulster-Scots Cultural was to the fore.”
“The Ulster Scots Agency did Ulster proud; the event was enjoyed by many MP’s from throughout the United Kingdom.
I want to pay special thanks to all of those who travelled to London and to Tweedie Acheson who helped develop the design of the Tartan cloth,” he added.
