Dearly loved nurse Jean passes away

Jean Dawson.

Jean Dawson.

Profound sorrow spread over a wide area when it was learned of the passing of Eileen Jennifer Dawson which took place in Lurgan Hospital on July 10.

Jean, as she was affectionately known to all those who had the pleasure of knowing her, was the dearly loved wife of Earl and the devoted mother of Neil of Bramblewood Drive, Banbridge.

Jean, who was formerly Brown, from Markethill, met and married Earl some
38 years ago.

She trained as a nurse in Armagh Royal Hospital and then qualified as a S.R.N in the Royal Victoria Hospital, here she was highly respected by all the staff and
patients alike.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing and music and going out with her husband to
different places.

Her main interest, however, was centred around her home and family and it is there that her passing will be mostly felt.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish Church.

She is survived by her husband, son, her father Mr. Robert Brown (Markethill), sisters Margaret (Scotland), Lynne (Hamiltonsbawn) and Pat (England) and brother Barry (Markethill). To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place privately from her home for a service in Holy Trinity Parish Church when the large congregation heard her minister the Ven. Roderic West pay a fitting tribute to Jean’s life.

The hymns ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd’ and ‘Amazing Grace’ were sung. Mr. Stephen Timpany presided at
the organ.

The interment took place privately in the New Cemetery. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of

flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Holy Trinity Parish Church.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral
arrangements.
