PRAXIS Care, a charity which provides services for people affected by mental ill health including 16 people locally, learning disability and dementia is running a sponsored diet campaign for St Valentine’s Day 2013.
The charity also works in the Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and England and it provides a range of accommodation and support services for nearly 1,200 people.
The sponsored event will run from Monday January 7 to Friday February 15.
The challenge is a weight loss programme which will focus on three different elements required to help people lose weight:
1. Good nutrition
3. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) describes a number of therapies that all have a similar approach to solving problems. CBT works by changing people’s attitudes and their behaviour.
All individuals must sign up to take part in the Praxis Care St Valentine’s Diet Challenge and need to raise a minimum of £80 sponsorship money including £20 registration fee.
Geraldine Andrews, Fundraising Officer for Praxis Care says, “The Praxis Care St Valentine’s Diet Challenge is a fun and healthy way to support the work of Praxis Care.
“Individuals will sign up to the campaign and will receive a pack which will include a diet sheet, self help tips and a sponsorship form.”
Aoife Francesca Grant, Independent Herbalife Distributor says, “As an Independent Herbalife Distributor I am delighted to be working with Praxis Care in the St Valentine’s Diet Challenge for 2013.
