Police in Banbridge praised the public for their help following a seizure of cannabis in Banbridge this week.
They received a report of suspicious activity in the Hillside Park on Wednesday afternoon, July 23.
When officers conducted a search of the area three bags of white powder, were discovered in the bushes.
Constable Gareth Hall, who thanked the public said: “Almost half a kilo of suspected cocaine has been seized. This substance was found in an area which is easily accessible to the public and it does not bear thinking about what may have happened if children had stumbled across this.
“The people responsible for this have no consideration for the local community or the potential consequences of their actions.
“This seizure shows just how successful we can be with community support. We continually ask the public to report suspicious activity at the earliest opportunity and this is the result - we have prevented drugs being circulated in the community. Thank you for your help!”
