Awards for Academy students

TWELVE Academy Year 14 students have been presented with their certificates for successfully completing the YASS Scheme.

YASS stands for Young Students in Schools and colleges Scheme and is run in association with the Open University.

Students studied a range of short courses relating to: understanding cancers, molecules, medicines and drugs, living without oil, inside nuclear energy and galaxies, stars and planets.

Through completing this course pupils will have shown an ability to learn and achieve at a Higher Education level; the self discipline and determination to study independently; self motivation; and an ability to negotiate learning deadlines and manage study time effectively.
