Cathedral choir marathon looms

DROMORE Cathedral organist and choirmaster Gordon Myers will be leading the church choir in a hymn-singing marathon on Saturday (February 23) to raise money for developing the Cathedral’s partnership with the South Sudan Diocese of Maridi.

Donations already amount to a fantastic £1,201.

The Cathedral choir will be singing some 100 hymns and Christian songs in the order voted for by members of the congregation and others, each donation having earned a vote for the donor’s

The current ‘No.1’ hymn is ‘To God be the glory’.

The event is open to everyone from 12 noon until around 5/6pm on Saturday.

For anyone who has never been to the Cathedral, it offers good opportunity to pay a visit and everyone will be made welcome.

Tea and coffee will be available all day.
