Dromore company lands two awards

A DROMORE company will be featured in next year's 'Green Earth' calendar after picking up a brace of awards for excellence.

Local engineering firm Allen Mechanical Services install heating systems and solar thermal panels in homes and businesses across Northern Ireland.

The company recently won two awards for their excellence in solar installation, the Environment 2010 Award and the 'Green Earth' calendar competition.

Organised by Worcester, Bosch Group, the two initiatives recognise installers who take an environmentally responsible approach to their work.

The Dromore company will now feature in Worcester's new 2008 'Green Earth' Calendar and is in the running to be named the overall Environment 2010 winner, due to be announced next year.

Managing Director of Allen Mechanical Services, David Allen, said, "We are thrilled to be associated with such prestigious awards and to achieve this level of recognition for our work in renewable energy.

"Companies are becoming increasingly aware of the need to turn to renewable energy and not just in a corporate and socially responsible way but for commercial purposes also.

"As energy costs continue to rise, people are realising that alternatives such as solar power are one way of reducing these costs in the long term."
