Historical Society set to discuss rebellion
MOST people living in Ireland have heard of the 1798 rebellion and know much about it.
However, many may not be aware of the origin which began around 1760 when Ulster was in the process of changing from a mainly agricultural background to an industrial one and the involvement of many Presbyterian clergy at the time.
Well known author historian and author Mr. Horace Reid will at the next meeting give at the next meeting give an illustrated with special reference to Co. Down and also the whole European political situation at that time.
This meeting takes place in Banbridge Old Town Hall on Thursday March 7 at 7.30pm. Visitors are most welcome.
