Respects to be paid to Spence family at funeral

THIS afternoon the Spence family and friends will gather at Ballynahinch Baptist Church to give thanks for the lives of Noel, 58, and his sons Graham, 30, and Nevin, 22.

The sudden tragic deaths of the three Co Down men in a slurry tank accident on Saturday devastated their closely knit community and has caused profound shock and sadness across Northern Ireland, particularly in the farming and rugby communities with Nevin having been an Ulster Rugby star.

A private service will be held at the family home at Drumlough Road, Hillsborough, this morning before the thanksgiving service at the church at 2pm.

Police have advised motorists of possible delays today due to the funeral cortege on Lisburn Street, Langley Road, Magheraknock Road, Ballycrean Road/Riverside Road junction and the Dromore Road/Riverside Road junction.

Car parking has been arranged at Langley Road playing fields, Congregational Church car park on Dromore Street, Edengrove Church car park on Dromore Street and Croob Park Primary School on Dromore Street

The rear car park of Ballynahinch Baptist Church is the main car park and this is being set aside for use only by the family cars, disabled parking and possible VIP visitors.
