A Moira man appeared in court today (Wednesday, August 18) accused of downloading of indecent images of children.

Standing in the dock of Craigavon Magistrates Court, 25-year-old Matthew Browne spoke only to confirm that he understood the two charges against him.

Browne, from Halfpenny Gate Road in Moira, is accused of possessing and making indecent images of children on 12 June, 2014.

Giving evidence to the court Detective Constable Cunningham said he believed he could connect Browne to the allegations while a prosecuting lawyer asked for the case to be adjourned for five weeks to allow the ‘full file’ to be lodged.

Releasing Browne District Judge Bernie Kelly ordered the defendant to come back to court on 21 September.
