The TUV’s Lyle Rea is promising that, if elected, he will fight on issues affecting older people.

Signed up as an ‘Age Champion’, the Lagan Valley Assembly election candidate recently visited Age NI’s Anna House day centre, where he met CEO Linda Robinson.

“The highlight of my visit,” he said, “was engaging with clients from Lagan Valley who were attending the centre.

“I took time to speak individually to them to establish any concerns they had about current provision and assured them that, as an Age Champion, I would fight to ensure that decision-makers legislate to improve later life for all of us.

“During discussions with staff, I was pleased to learn that I was the first Assembly candidate from Lagan Valley Constituency to sign up as an Age Champion.

“I am, however, disappointed that not all candidates, including some seeking re-election, have seen fit to do so.”
