Banbridge is set to host a ‘Last Saturday in August’ parade on Saturday, but not for the local Black Chapter.

Instead the local demonstration will be hosted by Mourne Royal Black District Chapter No.8 in Kilkeel.

On the same day Banbridge will play host to the City of Belfast Royal Black Institution, who this year have decided on Banbridge for their venue. Their parade will start at noon with the return parade at 4.30pm.

The Sir Knights from Banbridge Black District No 6 will travel to Kilkeel to join with the Sir Knights of County Down Grand Black Chapter for the largest of the day’s demonstrations.

Before leavingl, The Sir Knights of Banbridge Royal Black District Chapter will parade through Banbridge leaving from the Orange Hall at 8.45am. On returning from Kilkeel the local Preceptories will have a short parade at 6.30pm.

“We would advise locals to be mindful of the anticipated traffic disruptions throughout the day,” said a spokesman.
