Two men who were extremely intoxicated at the time were each fined £150 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for jaywalking.

They were Paul Lee Lyness (29), Ashgrove Manor, Portadown, and James McCoy (30), Ballyoran Park, Portadown.

The court heard that on November 21 last year at 7pm a road traffic accident happened on the Lake Road, Craigavon,

When police arrived they found a man lying in the road near the central line. This person had been dealt with at a previous court and fined £150 for jaywalking.

Two other males, the defendants, were on the footpath. They were extremely intoxicated and having difficulty standing. They said that the other person had been drunk and was ‘acting like a c—t’ in the middle of the road.

Deputy District Judge Laura Ievers said she was not going to make any distinction between these defendants and the other defendant.
