The Annual General Meeting of the Upper Bann Ulster Women’s Unionist Council was held recently in the Ulster Unionist Party’s Portadown Advice Centre.
Branch members were addressed by this year’s guest speaker, Alderman Arnold Hatch, following a welcome from Upper Bann Chairperson Jo-Anne Dobson MLA.
Alderman Hatch spoke of the work of the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council. The meeting was attended by council members from across Upper Bann as well as Branch Vice-Chair Olive Hatch and HonTreasurer Joanie Elliott.
Mrs Dobson said afterwards: “The Women’s Council has a proud history of upholding the unionist cause.
“While we are rightly proud of that history we are equally looking to the future and it was good to see new members joining this year and others stepping forward into positions of leadership and responsibility.
“The Women’s Council plays an important role in bringing forward new members at the grassroots of our party
“Anyone who is interested in joining can contact me through my constituency office and I will be happy to provide details.”
