A musical May for Scarva as concert series continues

The beautiful village of Scarva will continue to ring out with marvellous music each Sunday afternoon as the concert band series continues.

The Victorian bandstand on Scarva Green is the place to be from 3 – 4pm as the finest in local concert bands perform in the picturesque surroundings famous for its fantastic floral displays.

The popular programme of concerts are organised by the South West Down Bands Association and supported by Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council.

Performing for your pleasure this May are the following:

Sunday 1 May - Seapatrick Flute Band

Sunday 8 May - Warrenpoint Silver Band

Sunday 15 May - Dunmore Silver Band

Sunday 22 May - Dungannon Silver Band

Sunday 29 May - Commons Silver Band

As well as a treat for the ears, the taste buds are also well catered for in the form of delicious homemade cakes, teas and coffee available from the delightful Scarva Tearooms.

The surrounding countryside is also a delight with the natural beauty of the canal and gardens plus why not take a stroll or cycle along the Newry Canal Towpath and enjoy the abundance of plant and wildlife plus nearby Scarva Park is always a big hit with families.
