Drumadonnell PS Vice-Principal retires

Mrs Jaine Minnis has retired as Vice-Principal of Drumadonnell Primary School after almost 17 years in the post.

Prior to that, she was Principal of Katesbridge Primary School. Her entire career of just over 33 years has been spent in the local area, beginning with a two year spell in Ballyward Primary School.

The school marked the occasion of her early retirement at the harvest services on Thursday October 27. Gifts were presented by Mrs Donna McCartan, Abigail Murray and William Weir on behalf of the Board of Governors, parents and pupils, and by Mrs Jacqueline Bingham and Mrs Lisa McCready on behalf of the staff.

Prior to the presentations, the staff performed a routine that focused on the interests of Mrs Minnis.

The Principal, Keith Spiers, reflected that the school was losing a gifted and dedicated classroom teacher, an experienced and knowledgeable Vice-Principal and a loyal and compassionate colleague. He concluded his remarks by wishing her a long and happy retirement.
