Host a '˜Blooming Great Tea Party' for Marie Curie

Loughbrickland woman Colette McGeown is calling on people in the Banbridge area to hold a Blooming Great Tea Party between 20-29 June and support Marie Curie, the charity which provides care and support for people living with a terminal illness.

Being fairly new to the village Colette decided to invite friends and neighbours into her home for a cuppa recently.

They were also able to sample some of her home-baked goodies.

What started out as a morning event ended at around 4.00pm with a whopping £700.00 raised.

Colette has supported Marie Curie for many years, having witnessed the care given to many people by the nursing service.

Whether it’s a big garden party for family and friends or a small bake sale at work, every donation from a Blooming Great Tea Party will be helping Marie Curie Nurses care for more people living with a terminal illness across the UK.

Phil Kane, Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie said: “It’s easy to support Marie Curie with a Blooming Great Tea Party and it really is up to you how you decide to join in. Every pound raised will enable us to help even more people living with a terminal illness.”
