Banbridge Musical Society recently met the winners and joint runners-up of the poster competition for their upcoming UK premiere of ‘Titanic Serenade’.
“Newbridge Integrated College submitted a terrific standard of entries that totally fulfilled the requirements of the poster brief,” said Chairperson Rosemary Kelly.
Stewart Love, well known Belfast playwright and the show’s director Leonard Anderson judged the competition on behalf of Banbridge Musical Society.
The overall winner of the Titanic Serenade Poster competition is Connor Downey a year 10 pupil.
Connor said: “I was surprised but delighted to have won, especially as he had enjoyed engaging with the challenge incorporating Belfast at that time and the building of the ‘Titanic’, the world’s most famous ship.” Connor’s design will be used as the poster to advertise Banbridge Musical Society’s spring show, which will be performed in the Iveagh Cinema from Tuesday May 13 at 7.30pm nightly with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
The joint runners-up Beth McDaniel and Katie McArdle also received a prize and will have their designs displayed in the foyer for the duration of the show’s run.
