Bernadette McGinnell, president of Portadown Credit Union, said the Portadown branch was delighted to continue the work done by the former Tullylish Credit Union directors, staff and volunteers.

She said the Tullylish organisation, which started back in 1973, had offered the people of the town of Gilford access to affordable credit, and a safe place to save their money. She added, “We would like to pay tribute to the outgoing board of directors, who have facilitated the work of the credit union in Gilford to date, dedicating much of their own time to ensuring their local community could avail of the ever-needed services provided by credit unions.

“Their vision and hard work has brought the credit union in Gilford this far, and it is our mission to continue that vision.

“Our priority is our members, and we will strive to ensure that we provide those members with a valued, relevant service.”

The Gilford branch will open on a Wednesday from 10.30am – 12.30pm, Friday 10.30am – 12.30pm, 1pm – 4pm and Saturday 9.30am – 12.00pm, and the customers can also use the main office in Portadown five days a week, including Saturday mornings.

Mrs McGinnell added, “In addition, our online account access will give them the ability to view their account online, print off forms and apply for loans online.

“These services are available through either of our offices.
