Sad loss at the passing of Mrs Mary Margaret Ochiltree

The passing of Mrs Mary Margaret Ochiltree who was better known as Peggy of 20 Bannside Road, Ballyroney took place at her home on Tuesday 7th June.

She was the dearly loved wife of the late John Alexander Ochiltree who predeceased her 23 years ago.

A woman of a cheery and friendly disposition she was born on 26th July 1930, she had reached the grand age of 86 years. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Essie Trimble.

She sustained a great loss on the passing of her brother William. Living in the Ballyroney district all her life, she worked on the home farm and there could have told you the history of the district in which she lived. She was a member of Ballyroney Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her daughters Joan, Maureen and Edith, sons Tom, Hugh, Clifford, and Robert, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and brother Sandy. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place from her home for service in Ballyroney Presbyterian Church at which her minister the Rev. Russell Edgar gave an inspiring address. The hymns ‘The Lord’s my Shepherd’ and ‘The day Thou Gavest Lord is ended’ were sung. Mrs Nan Mulhall presided at the organ. The committal took place in the adjoining churchyard.

Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, for Chest Heart and Stroke.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
