That’s according to Head Coach Mark Tumilty after his side were drawn to take on Racing Club de France in the European Hockey League KO16.

Either KHC Dragons or Bruzelles await in the quarter-finals and that’s a tie Tumilty is determined to make.

“I’m delighted with the draw but they (Racing) will be as well,” said Tumilty. “People are saying it’s a great draw for us but it’s a great draw for them.

“We were the one nation they’ll have looked at. They will have wanted to avoid the sides from Belgium, Holland or England.

“If we play to our potential, is it winnable? Yes, it is. Both teams will be thinking that. If we can get through then, we meet a Belgian side in the quarter-finals and we’ll take our chances there.

“It’s all on the back burner though. That’s a reward for all the hard work we have put in but we really want the EYHL.”

Lisnagarvey, meanwhile, were drawn against Spain’s Atlètic Terrassa.
