Bann Seconds put Pegasus to the sword
BANBRIDGE Seconds took on Pegasus on Saturday.
They opened the scoring through Rosemary Waddell when Sarah Anderson took a quick free and fed the ball into the circle.
The first half saw a lot of end to end hockey. Pegasus won a few short corners but were unable to convert due to Banbridge’s strong team work.
The second half saw Banbridge step on the pitch with renewed energy, this clearly paying off as the dominated most of the half.
A second goal came from Megan Whan who slotted home a first time strike from a short corner. Helen Sawyers combined well with Rosemary Waddell who had a great finish from the right hand side of the D claimed the third goal of the game.
Nadene Black rounded off the scoring grabbing a loose ball in the circle and slotting it home. This cemented 4-0 victory over bottom of the table Pegasus and added another three points to Banbridge’s league campaign.
Player of the match was Jessica Hassan, who was instrumental in Banbridge’s short corner defense.
Thanks to Robin and to Sheree for umpiring.
