A day for the defences as Town Juniors and Rangers draw a blank
The game got underway at a blistering pace and Rangers were the first to put some pressure on the Juniors. The Juniors defended expertly though as captain Jake Laffin and Ryan Jones kept the Rangers front two well in check.
The Juniors played mainly on the counter in the early stages, with midfielders Ryan Angus and Jordan Walker fighting for control of the ball as they tried to feed Sam McAllister who was patiently waiting for his chance.

Rangers pushed hard to create an opportunity but Town keeper Conor Ward was dominant in his box claiming everything that came his way.
The second half was much in the same fashion as the first, with the two midfield lines contesting hard for the ball. The Juniors started to play some attacking football giving Rangers a hard time at the back but Rangers were just as strong and didn’t give anything away.
The game very much at a stalemate, Rangers scavenged the best chance of the match when they pounced on a half cleared ball which was thundered towards goal but keeper Conor Ward at full stretch pulled off a magnificent save to keep the scores locked at 0-0, a save which drew applause from both sides of the pitch.
A point each then in a fair result in the eyes of a neutral.
This week’s Town MOTM was Ryan Jones for a defensive masterclass, snuffing out any danger that came his way.
