Donacloney FC had more than a bruised ego after Saturday’s defeat to Rathfriland Reserves.

The hosts claimed a 6-1 victory thanks to goals from Christopher Frazer (2), Andrew Stewart (2), Alastair Wilson and Jackson Cartmill. Stuart Sinnamon bagged the ‘Cloney goal in his first game back at the club.

But for young Donacloney player Ben McDowell, it was an especially painful experience.

After replacing derek Curran in nets, he suffered a fractured eye socket in a tackle late. All at both clubs wished him a speedy recovery but after the game, Ben made sure his club knew he is hanging up the gloves and never going into goals again!

We don’t blame you, Ben.
