Banbridge Rangers progressed to the semis of the Under 11 Mid Ulster Cup with a 6-1 win over derby rivals Banbridge Town.

Josh Thompson scored his third hat-trick in four games to see the boys in blue into the last four.

Thompson got the ball rolling with a composed finish before captain Daniel Brown scored a penalty to double the advantage.

The Town got back into the match with a long range lob but Thompson soon made it 3-1. Issac Heslip then picked out the top corner to all but end the game.

In the second half, Harvey Simpson drilled a shot from over 25 yards to make it five before Thompson rounded off his hat-trick.

Heslip dictated play for Rangers and Maddy Ireland made a positive impact.
