DJ prepares side for a repeat fixture as Slane gear up for Alan Wilson defence

That’s because he is currently preparing his side for another game against Lurgan Town, and will be hoping for a similar outcome.

He watched on as Gareth Rees netted to goals to deliver a 2-1 success last weekend.

And now the boss will be hoping for more of the same as his team gear up for the same fixture this weekend, again at the Lurgan Town Arena (kick-off 2pm) but this time in the first round of the Alan Wilson Cup.

Slane, of course, won the tournament last season and will be keen to defend their title as they continue to battle on severl fronts.

“I was delighted with our win on Saturday,” said Johnstone.

“We knew it would not be easy as Lurgan Town have a great record at home but we deserved the win.

“It was pleasing to grind out a result when we needed to and players had to stand up and be counted. Its great to be in the quarter-finals of the Marshall Cup.”
