Donacloney Football Club drew their 125th Anniversary celebrations to a close on Saturday night with their end of season awards at the Bannville House Hotel.
All who attended had a great night celebrating the club both this season and throughout the past 125 years.
The club would like to thank all those who attended:- Current and past players, management, members and friends of the club, sponsors W. J. Holmes & Son - Donaghcloney Family Butchers, local political representatives Councillor Mark Baxter and Carla Lockhart MLA of the DUP, and representatives from the Mid Ulster Football Association and the Mid Ulster Football League - Norman Livingston (MUFA Chairman), Colin McCullough (MUFA Treasurer and MUFL Honorary Treasurer) and Maurice Johnston (MUFA Council Member and MUFL Vice-Chairman).
A particular word of thanks to the MUFL and MUFA for the special presentations made to the club by both organisations to mark this special anniversary for the club.
Matthew Holmes gave an interesting run down on the history of the club on the night. Local band Samson and the Delilahs provided the entertainment, playing once all of the formalities had been completed. Our thanks to Northern Ireland international goalkeeper who provided 2 signed and framed Northern Ireland shirts which were raffled and auctioned off on the night.
Thanks from the club to the Bannville House Hotel for hosting us, looking after us, and feeding us so well.
A massive word of thanks to everyone who has played their part throughout the last 125 years of this club, to all who have played their part during the 2015/16 season, and to all who helped organise the event and get the Bannville looking the part for it! The club would like to mention one name in particular and express our thanks to club Chairman Damien Higgins who pulled everything together for the event!
