Johnstone rues missed chances and defensive errors

Moneyslane boss David Johnstone was left questioning his side’s display at both ends of the pitch on Saturday.

Brian Quilty came to the team’s rescue with a late brace but Johnstone was far from satisfied.

“It was incredibly frustrating but we have only ourselves to blame,” he said.

“Our opponents worked hard but analyse the game and we totally dominated most of it. While they had three chances and scored two, we had well into double figures of decent chances but only scored two and that was the difference.

“While we wasted chances, I am most angry at our defending as both goals were just poor individual mistakes and it has cost us two points. That said, the players showed great character to get back into the game and showed tremendous heart.

“Quilty with both goals again demonstrated real commitment and I thought Peden was outstanding in both his defending and talking.

“It keeps us top of the league so we need to keep working hard and look forward to Seagoe FC at Jubilee Park next week.”
