Losing streak goes on for Seapatrick with Lower Maze defeat

After four defeats on the trot, Seapatrick hosted Lower Maze, a side who they had lost 2-1 to earlier this season after the Maze sneaked a 93rd minute winner.

With this result still fresh in their heads, a village side with numerous changes were hungry to return the favour. The village came out of the blocks sharpest. Unfortunately, they were caught sleeping when Lower Maze executed a well-rehearsed free kick routine, leaving their striker with plenty of time to slot past McGrath. However, Seapatrick heads did not drop.

Eventually, the village pressure paid off and McBurney rifled home a volley from just outside the penalty area. The momentum was now with Seapatrick.

The village started the second half as they finished the first and enjoyed some good spells of possession.

With 20 minutes to go, both teams began to play with a sense of desperation and the passing game that the village were creating chances with was fading away. On 80 minutes, a forced ball from midfield was intercepted, resulting in a 4 on 4 situation, that the Maze came out on top of - a beautiful through ball was met with a brilliant finish by the Maze forward. Next week Seapatrick travel to Broomhill.
