Harry is the son of Banbridge Rangers’ club chairman John Patterson and first came on the radar making his debut for the club on Saturday 5th March 2011 for the Under 10 team who managed a 3-2 win in the game.

The introduction to local football had begun and Harry has played regularly with the Gers for the past four seasons whilst playing a year above himself.

He was an instrumental player for the club’s Under 14 team this season moving from a wide position into centre midfield and deservedly picked up the Most Improved Player of the Year Award at the recent end of season dinner. The MUYL Under 13 Select Team, who are sponsored by Firmus Energy, played their first group game against Killen Rangers yesterday and will now take on Lifford Celtic in Lifford today (Tuesday) and Carniny Youth at Clooney Park West on Wednesday (both games kciking off at 3pm).

The knockout stages of the tournament will follow later in the week.

Other local players selected for the Mid Ulster side, as reported in last week’s LEADER, are Josh Jennings & Adam Jennings from Dromore and Jerome Travers & Brendan Tumility from Rathfriland.
