Scarva left Portadown empty-handed after a see-saw league encounter ended 4-3 to Portadown BBOB.
Rangers twice led in the game but the hosts scored three times in the second half to ensure victory and the three points.
Stuart Wilson produced a fine early save to prevent Portadown BBOB breaking the deadlock and at the other end Alex Hammond headed a Greg Douglas corner narrowly off target.
The breakthrough arrived when Wes Baird clipped the ball over the top of the home defence and Stephen Gass fired his shot clinically into the net.
Portadown equalised before Gass won a corner for his side and Alex Hammond’s commanding header found the back of the net as Rangers regained the lead.
Wilson showed assured handling when forced to deal with a long range shot from the hosts to protect Scarva’s slender advantage.
The Scarva keeper produced another super save in the second half as Portadown BBOB launched a dangerous counter attack but minutes later they did make it 2-2.
The home keeper was alert to snuff out two Scarva attacks while at the other end Gareth Anderson made a goal-line clearance and the hosts had a goal chalked off for offside.
Portadown scored a headed goal from a corner to take the lead for the first time in the match at 3-2 but the game continued to ebb and flow.
The next goal in this high scoring encounter was carved out by the visitors.
BBOB were forced to knock the ball out of play to halt an attacking move down the right involving Andrew Boyce and Greg Douglas and the resulting throw-in picked out Gass. He surged to the by line and pulled the ball back to Sam Boyd, who drilled it into the net.
Kyle Jennett then created a scoring opportunity with a precise ball over the top but Boyd’s first time shot was saved.
Portadown BBOB’s winning goal came from a corner and at the other end it looked as if a Gass effort had claimed a point for his side when the keeper spilled it on the line but the ball somehow stayed out.
