Moneyslane set up an Irish Cup round two tie at home to Portstewart with a 6-1 win over Magherafelt Sky Blues.

There were six separate scorers as Moneyslane ran riot at Jubilee Park.

Their new talisman Brendan Kingsmore was one of them. He got the first, running on to a through ball from Johnny Kernaghan and slotting home.

However, it was 1-1 soon after when the nippy visiting striker netted a half-volley.

Kingsmore turned provider for Slane’s second and Kidd put the finishing touches on a swift counter-attack.

And the hosts put daylight between the teams before the break as defender Martin rose to head home a typically troublesome free-kick from former Banbridge Town man Kernaghan.

Slane goalkeeper Hamilton wasn’t a bystander and made a few saves to keep the game comfortable. And on 70 minutes, it was all but over as a great move down the right led to the fourth. Kidd’s snapshot was saved but Harron, who had played him in, continued his run to convert.

Gareth Bingham came on for the final 15 minutes and he got in on the action straight away with an assist and a goal. Kidd released him down the centre and he unselfishly square to the waiting Montgomery for his side’s fifth.

And he got a goal of his own before full-time when he smashed an unstoppable effort in off the foot of the post from the edge of the area to complete the scoring.
