Slane took the lead before half-time when Gareth Rees flicked the ball into the path of the returning Gregg Harrison, who drew the keeper before slotting home.

Jordan Fairley delivered the second on 55 minutes when Mark Ervine played a great ball through for the young striker to curl into the top corner.

Almost immediately it was 3-0 when a blocked Adam Stewart shot fell kindly for Rees to tuck the ball home past the advancing keeper.

Bourneview did bag a late consolation but Slane had already done enough to send the fans, and the boss, home happy.

“It was good to see our attacking players, Gregg Harrison, Jordan Fairley and Gareth Rees all get on the score sheet and very pleasing that Jonny Kernaghan got back on the pitch following his injury,” said DJ. “We looked solid today along the back line which was encouraging. I want to pay tribute to the players for a fantastic season so far. 19 wins out of 23 league games is an excellent achievement.”
