Banbridge Town are hoping to nail down two signings this week.

Having already signed up Ryan Moffatt and midfielder Kevin Anderson (see page 39), the manager is now closing in on two more of his transfer targets.

“I’m hoping to have another couple signed up in the coming days,” he said.

“One of those is a young striker from Newry who still has to put pen to paper but would be a great addition to the side. He scores goals and would come to the club with a lot of potential.

“The other is a central midfielder, who I have worked with before and would be another useful addition to the squad. He is maybe a little bit further away and has other clubs to speak to.”

And even if those pair do sign the dotted line at Crystal Park, Watson’s business won’t be done just yet.

He said: “You’re never finished. You are always looking out for something to come available but if we could get these two on board, it would be a significant boost to the side.

“I’m talking to another couple of players but those potential signings are still a way off.”
