Banbridge Town manager Ryan Watson says his side need to get their league campaign up and running ‘as soon as possible’.

Town have yet to win in the league this season, and with a disappointing Cup exit at Armagh City last weekend, they will be keen to get their season on track at home to Queen’s University in the league on Saturday (kick off 3pm).

Watson said: “We played fairly well. Armagh is a tough place to go, they are not a bad side and on the day we were probably the better team, but we just couldn’t get a goal.

“We gave away a soft goal in the first half and we missed a good opportunity to go through to the next round.

“It’s disappointing because our performance level wasn’t bad,” he said.

However, Watson says he would be happy to take any kind of win against Queen’s on Saturday.

“I’d just be happy with the three points,” he commented.

“If we don’t get the performance and get the result I’ll be satisfied. We just need to grind out a win and there is no better time.

“The league is a priority for us,” Watson added.

“All the league fixtures are tough games. Queen’s have started the season with a mixed bag, but it’s just about getting the result so we can get our league campaign up and running, no matter how we do it.

“If we play to our standard and capabilities we should be capable of getting a result.

“It’s time to deliver a win,” Watson said. “We need that catalyst and our season will just take off.”
