U10s thank staff for preparing Community Centre pitch
DROMORE U10s would like to say a big thanks to the staff at Dromore Community Centre for preparing the pitch and getting the game on after very heavy rain.
The team produced a performance to make them and those who were watching very proud.
There were a few changes with Joel and James both absent. In came Karl Taggart and Morgan Houston, with Matthew Briggs switching to centre back. The game started with good pressure from Dromore, especially Matthew Magil playing well down the right.
The pressure finally told when Eddie Tucker was pushed over in the box. Eddie scored from the penalty with a great shot.
It was not long before it was 2-0. Matthew Magill was getting plenty of space down the right and was making use of it. His pass found Adam who fed Eddie for his second.
There were a host of other chances before half time. Adam thought he had scored from a cross by Matthew Magil; however the ref blew for offside.
At the change around Jack came on to replace Euan who had seen little action down the left, with Matthew Magil playing so well. The second half took on the same shape, with the midfield of Karl and Philip playing in centre breaking up Sirocco attacks and feeding Matthew and the front boys.
Both Adam and Eddie were now playing with freedom turning the defenders with their slick passing and it was Eddie who set up Adam with the third.
It was from a corner that the fourth came, with Matthew Briggs up from the back who fed Jack with a great ball, which he buried in the back of the net. Karl then had a great short that was blocked.
Eddie charged down a free kick but the resulting shot was just wide. The ball was in the back off the net again however offside was given.
The defence for Dromore were always in control, Alan with some great runs down the left, Nathan and Mathew Briggs clearing danger and Morgan feeding Matthew Magil with great clearances. Although Josh had little to do he was ever alert to any forward attack. Alexander came on for Karl towards the end and made a good contribution too.
The team now are looking forward to Bury coming for training on Thursday and Friday. The next game is at home against Hillsborough at 9.30am.
