FOURTHS STILL PUSHING FOR THE JUNIOR TITLE
Mossley Ladies III 1 Dromore Ladies VI 4
DROMORE Ladies Sixths, sponsored by KJM Properties, travelled to Mossley last Saturday hoping for a win to further their challenge for the Junior League championship.
Mossley roared into the lead, scoring after five minutes while also injuring centre back Rebecca Goody in the process, ruling the defender out for the rest of the game due to a nasty ankle injury.
Goody was replaced by promising youngster Claire Morton, this was one of the 13 year old's first senior games.
Dromore came back and after a quick free hit from Hannah Lilburn found Lynne Nesbitt in the circle she quickly levelled the scores.
Nesbitt added her second moments later, this time a fabulous solo effort after a one on one with the goalkeeper resulted in Dromore taking the lead for the first time.
Mossley began to feel the pressure as Dromore started to play with fast flowing hockey and a number of short passing movements up front.
Dromore's third came courtesy of a left to right switch, Kiera Walker fed Andrea Wilson on the right who drilled the ball into the back of the net.
And their final goal came from a goal mouth scramble, Kiera Walker slipping one past the stranded keeper to make it a convincing away win to the Blues.
Halfway House Dame of the Game was awarded to the babies of the team, Claire Morton and Hannah Lilburn, for their persistent hard work and graft.
Special Thanks to Zoe Robinson for making the short journey to umpire.
