Dromore U16s aiming for cup glory

Dromore progressed to final after an impressive 39-0 away win at Ballyclare on Saturday 23rd April.

Coaches Geoff Moore, Mark Elliot and Michael Harshaw believe it is no-more than they deserve after good season.

Meet the team:

Name: Peter O’Connor

Position: prop

Description: member of ulster u17s clubs. Strong ball carrier and works hard around park.

Name: Sam Fairley

Position: Wing

Description: defensively rock solid not many boys get past him, turns up every week with a eagerness to learn and improve.

Name: Ben Heath

Position: no.8

Description: member of ulster u18s club squad. the teams main source of go forward ball, loves a big carry but also great leader defensively.

Name: James Moore (capt)

Position: hooker/ flanker

Description: natural leader speaks well and leads by example on the pitch. Does a lot of the dirty work around pitch.

Name: Richard Dickson

Position: 2nd row/ flanker

Description: probably the teams most aggressive player. Relishes the defensive side of the game, loves tackling hard.

Name: Jordan Howard

Position: 2nd row/ prop

Description: 1 of 5 boys that joined from banbridge this year. Hasn’t let anyone down when needed in prop or in 2nd row

Name: Adam Buller

Position: out half/ scrum half

Description: new to 10 this year and looks very comfortable in that position. High work rate, loves contact in attack and in defence.

Name: Jonny Scott

Position: full back/ hooker

Description: has played in forwards and backs this year, can do a good job wherever he is needed. Has a cannon of a right boot

Name: James Humphries

Position: 2nd row

Description: one of the most improved players this season. A grafter on the pitch, works hard in training.

Name: Aaron Lyttle

Position: front row

Description: recently added to ulster schools u16s squad. Solid all round player, getting better each week. Big game player, t times he needs to remember he’s a forward not a back, but has good enough hands to show a lot of back up.

Name: Thomas Priestley

Position: wing

Description: another player who has improved immensely this year. Defensively strong, made a lot of impressive big hits so far.

Name: Tom Dolaghan

Position: centre

Description: top try scorer so far this season, strong runner with ball usually trying to run over boys instead of round them.

Name: Rhys Dale

Position: scrum half

Description: technically talented, has improved a lot as the season has went on. Knows the game well and learns new ideas quickly.

Name: Hayden Kerr

Position: centre/ out half

Description: the brains of the backs, the defensive leader in the backs. Strong carrier, a player that does a lot of selfless work

Name: Matthew Neill

Position: 2nd row/prop/ full back

Description: versatile player who covers a lot of position. Good player in the loose, scored try game in semi finals

Name: Matthew Corbett

Position: centre/ full back/ wing/ flanker

Description: great player to have in squad as he could play anywhere, very strong boy who is as good going forward as in defence

Name: Matthew Pepper (vice captain)

Position: flanker

Description: loves making big hits, works his sock of around pitch. Good ball carrier strong and hard to tackle.

Name: Caleb Harper

Position: wing/ centre

Description: unlucky with injuries this season . When fit runs good lines and defensively strong, hopefully fit enough to take place in squad.
