That’s after they held the Burney Cup holders to a thrilling 3-3 draw at Comber Road after extra time on Saturday morning.

And that was enough to send the game to a replay, which will be played at 7pm tomorrow (Wednesday) at Havelock.

They have goalkeeper Luke Roleston to thank as he saved a penalty stroke in the dying minutes of extra time on Saturday morning in what was a thrilling end to a topsy-turvy game.

Bann had fallen behind 15 minutes into the game as Wallace scored via a well-worked free hit.

As the visitors dominated, they equalised through star man Jake Rowe, who fired home a penalty corner drag-flick from the top of the circle.

The Academy were behind again soon after when they conceded a penalty flick but Joel Reid finished from a tight angle to send the game into extra time.

A goal each ensured the game would come back to Havelock, Jake Rowe netting his second of the game in one of the best goals scored for the school in recent times. He went on a mazy run, jinking past several defenders before flicking an unstoppable into the roof of the net from the tightest of angles.

Stand-out peformers for Bann were skipper Andrew Bennington, Kyle Marshall, Jake Rowe, Mark Barlow and Peter McKnight.

Now they have to make sure they do it all again on home soil tomorrow (Wednesday).
